"Exit Lines" is one of the great Reginald Hill's early mysteries featuring the Dalziel/Pascoe detective partnership and it is a very good one indeed. The book's theme is the end of life and the problems of declining physical and mental capacities /5(48).
Every chapter began with a quote, the last words of famous people. Exit Lines. I googled some of them to verify and found them correct. But what was amazing, the lines also related to the events of the chapters.

This novel is the third book of the King & Maxwell series. It's interesting reading - it's the kind of book to read before falling asleep.
